Why Work Feels So Hard!

Why Work Feels So Hard When You Have ADHD (Even If You’re Really Good at Your Job!)

You’re smart, capable, and probably the one that your coworkers turn to in a crisis. On paper, you’re thriving. But behind the scenes? You’re drowning in unread e-mails, procrastinating until the last possible second, and second guessing every decision you make.

If that sounds familiar, let me say this clearly; It’s not laziness. It’s not a time management issue. And it’s not a moral failing.

It might be ADHD.

ADHD at Work Doesn’t Always Look Like “Underperforming”

Many of the women I work with are incredibly high achieving but underneath their success is a hidden struggle.

They experience things like:

Paralysis at the start of a big project (even if it’s important)

Inconsistent productivity… either hyper-focusing for hours or barely getting started

Trouble prioritizing when everything feels equally urgent

Shame about missed deadlines, forgotten meetings, or tasks that just… fell off the radar

Overcompensating by working late, over preparing, or constantly saying “yes” to prove they are keeping up

Sound familiar?

It is not that you’re not good at your job. It’s that doing your job with ADHD can be mentally exhausting… especially in a world that wasn’t designed for your brain!

So What Can You Do?

If you’ve tried the planners, productivity hacks, and late night pep talks and still feel like you’re falling short, it’s time to try something different.

Here’s what I want you to know:

You don’t need more willpower.

You are not broken.

You deserve support that is actually ADHD-friendly.

That’s where therapy comes in!!

Therapy Can Help You Work with Your Brain and Not Against It

In therapy, we’ll go beyond surface level tips and get to the root of what’s making work so hard.

Together, we will:

Build systems and routines that actually work for your ADHD brain.

Address the perfectionism, burnout, and shame that keep you stuck.

Learn how to manage emotional dysregulation (hello, Sunday Scaries and feedback panic).

Explore your unique strengths and how to use them at work.

Redefine what success looks like for you.

~You don’t have to keep pushing through or pretending it’s fine.

You can get support, slow down, and find a better way to work and live.

I help women in California and Nevada navigate ADHD and reclaim their confidence at work (and beyond!) You don’t have to do this alone. Schedule a free intro call at the link in my bio and let’s see if therapy is a good fit.
